This is the original Texas Kraut — deliciously fresh sauerkraut that packs an anti-inflammatory power-punch for your gut… it’s naturally fermented, so it’s teeming with enzymes and trillions of probiotics (literally). These friendly bacteria get to work re-populating your gut to help digestion and perform biological functions that support health. Fermentation also increases bioavailability of certain nutrients. We never heat our products; rather, we cold-age to increase the probiotics and produce a uniquely complex flavor. We add turmeric and ginger to help reduce inflammation in the GI tract. The anti-inflammatory ingredient in turmeric called curcumin is only about 10% bioavailable in it’s raw form. When fermented, it becomes 90% – 95% bioavailable.
We don’t mean to brag, but it’s on another level of tasty. To rip the old Bluebell mantra, we’re “eating what we can and selling the rest.” It’s that good. The fresh ginger, turmeric and garlic flavor remind me my favorite indian dish. We add freshly ground organic peppercorns and jalapeños to kick things up a notch. It’s by far the best kraut I have ever tasted… and I have tasted an unbelievable amount of sauerkraut. Just the amount I consume on rueben sandwiches is staggering. Not only is it the best kraut I’ve ever eaten, It’s the best pickled anything I’ve ever eaten. When cousin Vicki tasted the Dill Revolution for the first time, she said “It’s pickled cabbage.” Amen, Vicki. That explains why I love it so much… it tastes like spicy shredded pickles! But it’s healthier because of all the trillions of probiotics. Beneficial bacteria are crucial for healthy digestion. They help our bodies to create vitamins and extract nutrition from the foods we eat everyday. A strong gut flora with large numbers of probiotics helps defend the body against harmful bacteria.
At the end of the day, I would eat this stuff even if it wasn’t healthy. But the benefits of it are outstanding. I can feel a tangible effect on my gut… and a happy gut is a very good asset. I find myself eating it most often with eggs, omelets, pork, barbecue, sandwiches, grilled chicken, quiche and salmon.
