Sauerkraut Recipes

If you’re the proud new owner of a jar of Texas Kraut and you’re wondering where to start, these meals are a must!

Cultured Breakfast Sandwich

  • 2 slices of sourdough bread
  • 1 egg
  • 2 slices of organic, farm-raised bacon
  • 1 slice of organic gouda cheese
  • 2 Tbsp of Dill Revolution or Rebel Red Texas Kraut
  • 1 tsp of organic cultured butter
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Start by cooking the bacon, and when it’s finished, set aside in a bowl, keeping the fat in the pan. Fry the egg in the bacon fat, adding a pinch of black pepper and salt to taste. Toast and butter the sourdough bread, adding a slice of gouda cheese when the bread is nearly toasted. The heat of the egg will further melt the gouda.  Add the egg and sauerkraut to the sourdough bread and salt to taste.

Tangy Pastrami & Swiss Melt

  • 2 slices of sourdough bread
  • Pastrami
  • 1 slice of organic swiss cheese
  • 2 Tbsp of Dill Revolution Texas Kraut
  • 1 tsp of organic cultured butter
  • 1 tsp Mustard

Remove your Texas Kraut from the fridge 2 hours before starting your sandwich. When it has reached room temperature, toast and butter 2 slices of sourdough bread. Pan fry the pastrami in butter, and when it’s hot, remove from the pan and add to the toast. Add a slice of swiss cheese on top to melt over the pastrami. Add two tablespoons of Dill Revolution Texas Kraut on top, and drizzle some mustard. Close up the sandwich and enjoy!

Probiotic Guacamole

  • 2 ripe avocados, mashed
  • 1 small tomato or a handful of cherry tomatoes diced
  • ¼ red onion diced
  • Small handful of cilantro chopped
  • 2 Tbsp of Dill Revolution Texas Kraut
  • ½ tsp roasted garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Spicy Nachos

  • Organic corn chips
  • Grass-fed & finished organic ground beef
  • Raw organic pepper jack cheese
  • ¼ cup black beans
  • 2 Tbsp of Iron Hill Organics Rebel Red Sauerkraut
  • ½ avocado

Lay the chips on a plate. Add meat and beans to the chips, then sprinkle a generous amount of cheese on top.  Put in the oven until cheese melts. Remove from the oven, add sauerkraut and sliced avocado. Enjoy!
